DJ Counsel.com is operated by Coe W. Ramsey of the law firm Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey, & Leonard, LLP.  Coe’s practice focuses on entertainment, communications, and media law.  His clients include DJs, producers, re-mixers, radio and television stations, internet broadcasters, music services, record companies, music publishers, bands, singers, songwriters, and other artists and music providers.

Coe’s passion for entertainment and music law stems from his previous years of experience in the industry. Before becoming an attorney, Coe worked as a radio station mix show DJ, as a mobile and nightclub DJ, and as a re-mixer / music producer. His re-mixes have been played on radio stations and in night clubs around the world. As a hobby, Coe operates and programs DanceStreams.com an internet radio station featuring his mixes of current dance music.

In the February 2009 issue of North Carolina Super Lawyers, Coe was profiled in the article “From DJ to J.D.: Coe Ramsey masters the art of mixing.”

Coe is a contributing writer on legal topics for DJ Times Magazine and is a regular speaker at music industry events, including the Winter Music Conference and the International DJ Expo.
